A few weeks ago Matt and I headed over to Universal Studios and traveled all destinations (nothing underwater) to Hogsmead and Diagon Alley to celebrate my 25th Birthday, and had a magical time. (puns always intended)
As we exited the muggle world, and took our first steps into Diagon Alley, our jaws dropped, and we looked around unsure of what to do first. It's a cheesy thing to say, but it really did look like we stepped into the movie. :) We had heard really good things about the "Hot Butterbeer" and since it was so cold and rainy, it seemed like a really good idea. And let me tell you guys, It did not disappoint. Universal, please let me know if ever you start selling this liquid gold in latte form, because I will be the first in line to try it... Okay, first in line might be a little unrealistic, but just add a few shots of espresso to that stuff and OH MY GOSH. My muggle-morning blues would vanish.
We looked around at all the different shops, rode on "Escape from Gringotts" (twice) And after a good amount of exploring headed on over to The Leaky Cauldron for lunch. I went for the Fishermen's pie, and Matt had the Lamb and Beef Stew. I swear, the food in the Wizarding World honestly makes you forget your in a theme park. :)
After lunch, we popped over to platform 9 3/4's and boarded the Hogwarts Express, which was such a cool experience. Once in Hogsmead we weren't super sure of what we wanted to do, but Matt had never seen the interactive experience over at Ollivanders and the line was shockingly short!
Before it started, Matt leaned over to me and said something like "Do you want to get the wand if you're chosen?" I responding very quickly "pfffft, I'm not going to get picked." I was right. But what happened instead was so much better.
The show had ended, and we where all leaving, when the wizard stopped dead in his tracks and looked at me "Is your birthday by any chance near?" he asked, seeming very serious
"It's today" I replied totally baffled
He lead me over to the desk, and pulled out a dusty wand box, while speaking "This explains everything, this wand has been giving me nothing but trouble all day..." He took the wand out of it's box, and started describing me to the t! Creative, sensitive, unicorn core. CRAZY RIGHT? I glanced back at Matt, feeling a little suspicious. but he was just as shocked as I was.
He took out his own wand, and pointed it at the wall, all the boxes became disarray, and then presented me with my wand, to see if it was "the right fit" And taught me a spell and everything magically went back to it's place.
"Use it wisely, and never keep it in my back pocket."
We (obviously) ended up getting the wand, and proceeded to be all giddy about the experience for the rest of the day, running around and casting spells all over the park. But seriously, I am 99.9% positive that man was an actual wizard!!
What I wore, Hair - Vintage scarf, and for my bangs I used Cherry Dollface's tutorial, and it worked so well! Here's a link if you want to give it a try. Boots - Forever21 Jumper Skirt- Tatyana Boutique Purse - Hot Topic
It was such a beautiful day, We stayed till the evening, sipped on more hot butterbeer, and watched the big dragon shoot fire (which looks even more amazing at night) Thanks so much to my amazing friend Meaghan for making it possible and for my darling Matt. <3

Have you been to the Wizarding World? If so, let me know, How do you prefer your butterbeer? Hot,Cold, or Frozen? Now that I've tried it hot, I don't think this Hufflepuff will ever go back.
