Wonder Woman then and now.- Making Comics mini challenge!

Hey all!,
So, as some of you might know, this month I've been vlogging the "Making Comics mini challenges" everyday on my youtube channel. However, this week has been a little crazy O.o and today was no exception.

Basically there's some type of mouse/squirel/rat or bat in one of the walls of the apartment... I talk about it a little in this video.

Anywho, today's mini challenge was "Find a comic from the Golden Age and compare its cover to a modern comic. Are there any noticeable differences or similarities? "
I decided to go with Wonder Woman (since I love her), The golden age comic is Wonder Woman #45 Origin Retold, and the more recent cover is for Wonder Woman #600
Putting these two images next to each other, one of the most obvious difference is the art style, but apart from that, and the golden age Wonder Woman's body language is  much more guarded, with her arms at her side, in this particular time in her history, she's always reminded me (at least looks wise) of Snow White. And I don't think I'm the first to make that mental jump.

However, our more modern Wonder Woman, looks less like a Disney Princess, and more like a Rockstar. Seriously, she looks like she could waltz up on stage, pick up a guitar (preferably with golden strings) do a mind blowing guitar solo, and then proceed to use the very same guitar to beat up the bad guys with. Note to self... I have to draw that.

Even though, there aesthetics changed along with the times, and they do seem very different, I feel myself wanting to be both of them. Even though there are obvious changes, one thing that hasn't changed for me in the sense of strength and other worldliness. You can't help but look at both images and go "Who is she?!"

So those were some of my quick thoughts on the covers, but I would love to hear yours! Feel free to leave a comment down below, or send me a tweet, and I'll chit-chat with you over on youtube tomorrow. If you want to find out more about these mini challenges, be sure to check out MakingComics.com

Byee!
