In honor of "Talk like a pirate day" Last night Matt and I got all dolled up in some fantastic garb and headed over to the Cloak and Blaster a local geeky gaming pub to meet with the rest of our crew of dastardly scallywags.
I couldn't help but swoon.
The Cloak and Blaster is a really unique bar in orlando, where you can actually rent tabletop games to play during your visit from the giant bookcase behind us. We all had so much chatting to do, we actually didn't partake. However last time we went we played a game called "Fluxx" and had an awesome time! The walls of the bar are covered in swords, crests, and other geekery, making us feel right at home.
What's a lady to do when surrounded by pirates in a tavern? Why, shots of Dragons Blood mead of course! Courtney & I cheersing to a night of adventure! (It was delicious)
I was overly excited when my beverage of choice arrived at the table in a goblet.
Pirate smooches <3
One thing is for sure, when it comes to themed events, one thing is for sure we all really really like to dress up! When the ladies ventured upstairs to check out the gaming area, I couldn't resist taking advantage of the lighting, and getting some shots of our outfits.
A lady and a Siren (Shawn from Azellius Cosplay) Her scale makeup was so cool!
The lovely Courtney in her steampunk Tinkerbelle costume & Roo in a dress that makes me think she looked like a a vampire-pirate-queen! All and all it was a lovely evening, filled with fun, friends, and fancy drinks. Courtney and I even placed for the costume contest!
Did you do anything festive on the 19th? Perhaps even acquire free donuts? Let me know about your adventures in the comments below <3
Fair winds,
Paige
