MOON PRISM POWER!! & Happy Sunday <3
Do you love Sailor Moon? I love Sailor Moon, and have been obsessing over the new series ever since it premiered! When I saw that this month's Kawaii till we die event was Sailor Moon themed, I was so excited and proceeded to pester all of my friends to come out and dress up with me.
Sailor Moon will always have a very special place in my heart as my "gateway anime" and introduced me to a world of talking cats, magical powers, and crazy awesome transformation sequences. It also taught me the very important lesson If something new/exciting is happening in your town, It's probably the negaverse! Luckily, Queen Beryl wasn't the secret mastermind behind the event and we were free to dance, drink, and have a grand ol' time without their pesky search for legendary silver crystal getting in the way.
My style inspiration for the night was Diana the daughter of Luna and Artemis, who my friends Erin and Stacey just happened to be dressing up as. (and maybe influenced my decision slightly) Together we made one big happy cat family and I resisted the urge to make it weird and call them Mom and Dad all night.
Purrrr-fect family of cats <3
How do you kill time waiting in line for the bathroom? By taking pictures of course!
Here's my magical girl pals Courtney and Shawn (Azellius Cosplay) as Ami and Rei
Did I mention the amazing venue for the party? The Geek Easy is a perfectly geeky themed bar located right inside A Comic Shop. They host a variety of events such as comic release parties, themed nights, trivia and karaoke, as well as the monthly Kawaii till we die events. It's a great place to bust silly moves on the dance floor (and we definitely did!) In the GIF below we were being taught how to do the dance from one of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's songs. Unfortunately I was too worried my wig would fall off to join in. :/ Next time!
All and all it was a spectacular evening filled with dancing, friendship and my first pumpkin beer of the season! Omnomnom. Hope everyone has an awesome weekend, filled with magical adventures, friends, and also maybe some cake? Yeah, cake sounds delicious. <3
